Biography of Luang Por Sakorn Manunyo, of Wat Nung Grub, in Nong Bua, Ban Kaay Rayong.
Luang Por Sakorn Manunyabanyo – First Looksit Aek (Apprentice), of the Great Luang Por Tim Issarigo, of Wat Laharn Rai, is in his own right seen as one of the 20th Century’s most prominent Masters, and the top primary holder of the Wicha Pra Pong Prai Kumarn of Luang Phu Tim. Luang Por Sakorn is known to have been adept at spiritual and traditional herbal medicinal healing and Wicha Waetmont Akom (Saiyasart/Sorcery), ever since Luang Por Sakorn was very young He was born under the name of Sakorn Fai Saalee as the son of a farming family. He was born in the third phase of the month of the Lunar Calendar, which was the 3rd of February 2481 BE.
Luang Por Sakorn was highly revered from early on in his time after ordination almost instantly, because of this special Lunar alignment during his birth. Olden days folk in those days had a staunch belief ,that this particular astrological alignment, ensured that he or she who is born on this auspicious occasion, is endowed with special powers and abilities, and tend towards being attracted to study the Occult. If a person born on such an occasion and endowed with powers decides to use it for bad, they will become incomparably infamous and perform heinous acts. But if such a person chooses the auspicious path, such as ordination as a Bhikkhu Monk in the Buddha Sasana (Buddhist Religion), as Luang Por Sakorn did, then such a person is surely to become a Great Master, with Great Wisdom, & achieve the highest goals and attainments.
Luang Por Sakorn of course, seems to prove this belief, as he was indeed endowed with extra special ability and expertise, from inscription of Khom Lettering to the neat and perfectly composed hand drawn Yantra Cloths and Takrut Spells he would design and empower. In the temple there are many Pha Yant hand inscribed from LP Sakorn, which are immensely detailed and complex, and perfect in their design and composition, showing how LP Sakorn possessed such adepthood nd diligence in his concentration and effort when performing magical ritual and inscribing magical spells and sacred geometry designs.
Luang Por Sakorn’s Father was named Mr Gu, and his Mother’s first name was Nid, who gave birth to Luang Por Sakorn (then the young ‘Sakorn’), in Tambon Nong Grub in the Municipality of Ban Kaay, in Rayong, very close to the temple of Wat Laharn Rai itself, where Luang Phu Tim was abbot. Luang Por (the Young Boy Sakorn Paisalee), had one sibling, a sister named Miss Yoo Paisalee.
Luang Por Sakorn began his studies as a young boy at age 5 at Wat Nong Grub temple. He finished primary school in the year 2490 BE, and school for poor folk. He finished primary school after 5 years of study and returned to help his parents on the farm. The farm itself was just across the field from the temple of Wat Laharn Rai, so Luang Por Sakorn was able to walk over often to visit the temple, and to Ban Kaay, to study and practice Buddha Magic and Occult Sorcery with the laymasters Ajarn Dtat and Ajarn Hlor.

Both Ajarn Dtat and Ajarn Hlor were both highly proficient adept sorcerers, and were direct apprentices of the Magical Lineage of Luang Phu Tim, where they spent many years developing their magic under his tutelage. Luang Por Sakorn learned many Wicha of LP Tim at first through these two Lay Masters, and became very adept in his own right whilst still a young man. The Great Luang Phu Tim began to call upon him to assist ion various duties at the temple of Wat Laharn Rai, and began to teach him hiw Wicha directly. This made Luang Por Sakorn a very powerfully magically endowed monk at a very young age.

When Luang Por Sakorn reached the age of 20, his parents took him for full ordination as a Bhikkhu (Monk) at the temple of Wat Nong Grub, on Wednesday the 5th May 2501 BE. His Upachaya Ordaining Officer Monk was Luang Por Ding (Pra Kroo Jantarotai). LP Ding also acted as Pra Gammawajajarn prompter, and the duty of the Pra Anusawanajarn witness was given to Pra Atigarn Kiang of Wat Pai Lom temple. He was given the Chaya Monk’s name of ‘Manunyo’.
After his Ordination, he would often wander over the Wal Laharn Rai temple to see Luang Por Tim. The young Luang Por Sakorn became the student of Luang Phu Tim in both Dhamma Vinaya (Buddhist Canon), and Puttakom (Buddha Magic and Sorcery). Luang Phu Tim bestowed all of his Wicha without witholding a single thing, giving Luang Por Sakorn the complete Dtamra and series of formulas, making him the prime apprentice and complete Wicha Holder of the l ineage transmission.

Luang Por Sakorn was very hungry for as much Wicha as he could absorb and master, and so also studied with the Great Luang Por Peng Sasano of Wat Laharn Rai, who was once one of the officers under the great Grom Luang Chumporn. And so Luang Por Peng was the holder of the secret Wicha of Luang Phu Sukh Wat Pak Klong Makham Tao, of which Grom Luang Chumporn was first apprentice, and mastered these powerful Wicha including Kong Grapan Chadtri and Klaew Klaad by the inscription of LP Sukhs Sacred Agkhara Spells upon a Leaden Yantra Foil, or Tiger Skin.

He would allow his Looksit to shoot guns at the Takrut hung around their necks, and the Guns would never shoot. They would just click and not fire. When Luang Por Sakorn had mastered this Wicha, after which, he became the apprentice in magic to Luang Phu Hin, of Wat Nong Sanom. After receiving the Metta of Luang Phu Hin to teach his Wicha Akom to Luang Port Sakorn, Luang Por Sakorn gave his all, and absorbed thee Wicha to the point of Adept Mastery in a very short time, due to his previous experience in Wicha Akom.
After finishing his apprenticeship with Luanng Phu Hin, he traveled to lean Wicha from Luang Phu Some of Wat Ban Chong, in Pan Tong Municipality of Chonburi, under the recommendation of Luang Phu Tim, of Wat Laharn Rai.

In the Year 2508, 7 years into his Ordination with Luang Phu Tim as his main Kroo Ba Ajarn, Luang Por Pra Kroo Gliang Tammatiyo, the Abbot of Wat Nong Grub passed away (called ‘Moranapaap/มรณภาพ’ in Thai, for when a Monk Passes). Because Luang Por Sakorn was already well known for his Prowess and Experience, the Devotees (Looksit) of Wat Nong Grub, traveled to Wat Laharn rai to beseech Luang Phu Tim to release Luang Por Sakorn Manunyo to comeback to his original temple of ordination, and be the new Abbot of Wat Nong Grub.
Luang Phu Tim gave his Blessing and Permission, and thus, Luang Por Sakorn Manunyo became the new Abbot of Wat Nong Grub at the age of 27 years old. But even then, Luang Por Sakorn, whose temple was just a shor walk away from Wat Laharn Rai, did not desert his Old Kroo Ba Ajarn Luang Phu Tim, and went almost daily to continue to absorb his Merits and knowledge, and Powerful Wicha, and Practice and Meditate together.
Luang Por Sakorn continued his frequent visits to enhance his Wicha with Luang Phu Tim until the passing (Mornapaap) of Luang Phu Tim in the year 2518 BE. Luang Por Sakorn was the presiding officer during the funeral ceremony to pray to the spirit of Luang Phu Tim as the ‘Sit Gon Kuti’ (Devotee under the Hut of the Guru), Prime Looksit Aek of Luang Phu Tim himself.
Luang Phu Tim himself often admired LP Sakorn for his ability as Abbot of Wat Nong Grub, to rebuild the buildings which were in disrepair, two of which were burned down in a fire, and for his Magical Prowess. His ability to develop the temple into a magical place with herb gardens and plenty of Kuti Huts for the Bhikkhus of the Sangha to come and practice under him.
Luang Por Sakorn’s amulets, especially his hand made and hand inscribed ones, are known, as well as Luang Por Sakorn himself, for their great artistic beauty and fine attention to detail, regardless of whether one considers his carved amulets, or Pha Yant and Yantra Foils with extremely finely inscribed, and neatly written and designed Yant and Khom Agkhara. His ability to apply lacquer and gold leaf was second to none, along with his secret Wicha for empowering amulets using this medhotd of covering the amulet with a magical protective wall.
Luang Por Sakorn produced many different editions of amulets, all of which are extremly hard to encounter, and not the cheapest amulets, for their high preference, and the projection that the amulets willl develop an extremely high price in the future, as well as their rarity meaning that devotees do not wish to give up their amulets very easily. This has resulted in it becoming very difficult to encounter the preferred editions of amulets of Luang Por Sakorn Manunyo, of Wat Nong Grub. Luang Por Sakorn was awarded the status of Pra Kroo Chan To High Royal Monk in the hyear 2524 BE. Luang Por Sakorn continued to direct the development of Wat Nong Grub, including the plan for the building of a statue of LP Tim, and a statue and shrine to Pra Sangkajjai, as well as many resources and buildings for the Sangha to practice their path well.
Luang Por Sakorn conducted and led the affairs of the temple of Wat Nong Grub, as well as attendig many many Buddha Abhiseka Blessing Ceremonies around the Nation, as his presence was often beseeched to assist in the empowerment of amulets. he also made many editions to help other temples, much like his Master Luang Phu Tim Issarigo.
